Some city figures are observed percentiles from public sources; others are modeled from national medians and local pay indexes. See About & methodology and our data sourcing guide.

You may browse and link to public pages for personal or internal research. You may not scrape the site in a way that degrades service, misrepresent our figures as official government statistics, remove attribution, or use the site to distribute malware or spam.

Intellectual property

Site design, branding, and original editorial content are owned by Pay by Role or its licensors. Underlying public data remains subject to the licenses of its respective publishers (see the About page).

Advertising and third parties

We may display advertising (including Google AdSense) and sponsored or partner links. Third-party sites have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for their content or offers.

The site is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that figures are complete, current, or error-free. Data pipelines and third-party APIs can change without notice.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pay by Role and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the site or reliance on any figure or guide.
